Cowell Jetty juts into the protected waters of Franklin Harbour on the eastern side of the Eyre Peninsula, offering a calm, sheltered snorkel with excellent visibility. The jetty pylons are encrusted with colourful sponges, ascidians, and macroalgae that attract a diverse array of reef fish. Snorkellers can enter from the shore beneath the jetty and explore the shallow seagrass beds and southern reef, or swim out to the deeper pylons where larger marine life often shelters. It's a relaxed, family-friendly spot that showcases the Eyre Peninsula's rich temperate marine biodiversity without the crowds of bigger tourist destinations.
