Coogee Jetty, part of the celebrated Coogee Maritime Trail just 25 metres off the shore of North Coogee, offers some of Perth's best shore-entry snorkelling. This artificial reef and snorkelling trail weaves around the historic Omeo shipwreck (which sank in 1905) in shallow 2–3 metre depths. The jetty itself provides easy water access via stairs, making it a prime entry point to explore the circular 300-metre trail. With calm, protected waters inside the Coogee Eco Net, snorkellers can float over abundant fish life and the submerged wreck structure in a safe, family-friendly environment.

Moderate risk: Metal/Sharp Objects on Wreck
The Omeo shipwreck has exposed metal and rigging that can cause cuts — wear protective footwear and avoid touching.
Low risk: Boat Traffic
Power boats and kayaks share the waters near the jetty and maritime trail — stay vigilant and surface with care.
Low risk: Variable Water Clarity
Silt and sand can be stirred up by wind and swell, reducing visibility especially after storms.
Low risk: Stinger Season (Jellyfish)
Warmer months (November to April) can bring jellyfish into the shallows.
