This sheltered, family-friendly beach sits in the lee of Coffs Harbour's historic jetty, with calm, protected waters perfect for beginner snorkelers. The site serves as the base for Jetty Dive Centre, the launch point for daily snorkel charters into the Solitary Islands Marine Park — a spectacular offshore archipelago known for vibrant coral, grey nurse sharks, and tropical fish. The protected inshore waters around the jetty piles themselves also attract juvenile fish, rays, and occasional turtles. With the Jetty Foreshores Park right behind the beach offering full amenities, this is a wonderfully convenient snorkeling hub on the NSW North Coast.

Moderate risk: Strong currents at offshore sites
The Solitary Islands can experience tidal currents that challenge inexperienced snorkellers.
Low risk: Boat traffic in the harbour channel
The jetty area is an active harbour with boat and jet ski traffic, especially near the marina channel. Snorkelers should stay clear of the main boating lanes.
Low risk: Tidal currents near jetty piles
As the tide moves in and out, currents can accelerate around the jetty structures and breakwalls. Best snorkeled on an incoming high tide in calm conditions.
Low risk: Boat traffic near jetty
Active fishing and charter boats operate from the jetty; snorkellers should stay clear of vessel channels.
Low risk: Marine stingers
Bluebottles and occasional box jellyfish may be present, particularly in warmer months.
