Nestled in the lee of the Coffs Harbour Marina breakwall, Jetty Beach offers calm, protected waters that are perfect for beginner and family snorkeling. The sandy beach slopes gently into the harbour, and the historic wooden jetty itself acts as an artificial reef — barnacle-encrusted pylons attract schools of small fish, while the adjacent breakwall and harbour mouth provide the chance to spot sea turtles and dolphins that frequent the marina entrance. The beach is patrolled in summer and sits just a short stroll from the cafes and shops of the Jetty Strip, making it one of the most accessible snorkel spots on the North Coast NSW.

Moderate risk: Boat traffic near harbour entrance
The marina entrance and harbour see regular boat and jet ski traffic; stay well clear of the channel markers.
Low risk: Barnacle-encrusted jetty pylons
Sharp barnacles on the jetty piles can cause cuts; avoid swimming too close to the pylons, especially in surge.
Low risk: Outgoing tide current
An outgoing tide can create a gentle current pulling toward the harbour mouth; less experienced swimmers should stay inside the breakwall-protected swim area.
