Coffs Creek is a tranquil mangrove-lined estuary winding through the heart of Coffs Harbour, offering a sheltered snorkeling and paddling experience just five minutes from the city centre. The creek snakes past the North Coast Regional Botanic Gardens on three sides, transitioning from brackish tidal water near the mouth to freshwater upstream. Snorkelers can explore the intertidal zones among mangroves and mudflats, observing small fish, crabs, and wading birds. Calm, shallow conditions make it an ideal spot for beginners and families, though the outgoing tide can create a swift current near the ocean outlet. Enter at high tide for the best experience and to avoid thick mud.

Moderate risk: Outgoing Tide Current
The creek runs swiftly on an outgoing tide near the ocean mouth, making it difficult to swim against and not recommended to venture past the rail bridge.
Low risk: Mudflats at Low Tide
Extensive mudflats are exposed at low tide; enter at high tide to avoid getting muddy and to ensure sufficient water depth.
