Tucked between rocky headlands on the northern Illawarra coastline, Coalcliff Beach is a small, wild stretch of sand backed by sheer cliffs and the striking Sea Cliff Bridge. This secluded pocket offers dramatic scenery rather than calm pools — the exposed ocean swells and rocky reef platforms make it a spot for adventurous snorkelers who don't mind rougher conditions. The adjacent tidal rock pool provides a safer alternative for a dip, and the surrounding reef edges hold interest for those seeking a more rugged underwater experience away from Sydney's crowded eastern suburbs.
