Just a short swim from the sandy shore of Watson's Bay on Lizard Island, the Clam Gardens is a world-class snorkeling site where vibrant giant clams (Tridacna gigas) stud the shallow reef in brilliant blues, greens, and golds. The calm, protected bay offers easy access to bommies and coral gardens teeming with angelfish, butterflyfish, lionfish, rabbitfish, trumpetfish, and rock cods. This is one of the Great Barrier Reef's most accessible and rewarding snorkeling experiences — a gentle walk from the resort leads you straight into crystalline waters brimming with life.
