Cherubs Cave is an iconic dive and snorkel site off the wild eastern side of Moreton Island, about 4.1 km offshore near Henderson Rock. This large, circular cave roughly 20 by 15 metres features six exits, creating a choose-your-own-adventure swim-through honeycombed with rocky gullies, smaller caves, and overhangs. Named for a small concrete cherub statue that once marked its entrance, the cave is surrounded by clear ocean waters attracting kingfish, trevally, turtles, wobbegong sharks, and massive gropers. The dramatic rock formations and abundant pelagic life make it one of the Gold Coast & Brisbane region's most thrilling underwater adventures.
