Tucked between Coffs Harbour and Korora, Charlesworth Bay is a secluded north-east facing beach sheltered from the south by the 40-metre-high Diggers Head. Its calm, semi-protected waters and rocky reef edges offer pleasant shallow snorkelling conditions, especially on low-swell days. Part of the Solitary Islands Marine Park, this uncrowded beach is a local favourite for a quiet dip and exploring the near-shore boulder habitat where small reef fish shelter.

Moderate risk: No lifeguard patrol
This beach is not patrolled — there are no lifeguards or flagged swimming areas. Snorkel at your own risk.
Low risk: Southerly swell
While Diggers Head provides shelter, strong southerly swells can wrap around and create dumpy shorebreak conditions, making entry difficult.
Low risk: Rocky reef edges
The bay is flanked by rocky headlands and reef. Sharp barnacles and rock platforms near the edges can cause cuts if not avoided.
Low risk: Rip currents
Like many unprotected NSW beaches, rips can form after periods of increased swell. Swim between stable sandbars where possible.
