Central Station is a renowned outer-reef dive and snorkel site on Ningaloo Reef, accessible by boat from the Tantabiddi boat ramp near Exmouth. Named for its natural manta ray cleaning station, this sandy-bottomed site draws graceful manta rays year-round — but especially from May to November — where cleaner wrasse service them. Surrounding bommies and coral gardens teem with butterflyfish, wrasse, half-circled angelfish, and the occasional reef shark or green turtle. With a max depth of ~15 m, it suits snorkelers and divers alike who want close encounters with some of the reef's largest and most charismatic visitors.
