The Cementco Wreck is the final resting place of a 67-metre-long hopper barge that served in WWII as the Australian Army's Crusader 2 before being used to transport fossilised coral for cement production. In 1985, while being towed to be scuttled as an artificial reef off Moreton Island, rough weather sank it prematurely — it now lies upside-down in 25 metres of water approximately 400 metres northeast of Flinders Reef. This wreck offers a unique snorkelling and dive experience just beyond Cape Moreton, with sparse coral growth, reef fish, and occasional larger pelagics drawn to the structure.
