Caves Cove is a sheltered snorkeling haven on the rugged north-western side of Hook Island, within the Whitsunday Islands National Park and the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park. Named for the small rocky caves and crevices along its shoreline, this cove offers calm, clear waters with fringing coral bommies and decent coral gardens that survived Cyclone Debbie. Once one of the most visited snorkel sites in the Whitsundays, it remains a favourite for its variety of fish life, the sheltered anchorage, and the opportunity to explore the caves and overhangs that give the cove its name.
