Cattle Point is a remote coastal headland along the rugged Discovery Bay coast in western Victoria, near the border with South Australia. This exposed southern-ocean site offers clear oceanic waters over rocky reef platforms and sandy patches when conditions are calm. The point is part of the broader Discovery Bay Coastal Park, known for its wild, windswept beauty, limestone cliffs, and long stretches of uncrowded beach. Snorkeling here is best on flat, windless days when visibility opens up over the reef flats.

Getting in
Cattle Point is located along the Discovery Bay coast in western Victoria, approximately 30 km south of Portland via the Princes Highway and unsealed access roads within Discovery Bay Coastal Park. A 4WD vehicle is recommended for the final approach. Follow signs to Discovery Bay and then to the Cattle Point coastal walking track access.
Limited informal parking area near the point. No sealed parking. Space for a few vehicles.
No fees for access to Discovery Bay Coastal Park.
