Tucked into Norfolk Island's southern coastline just west of Kingston, Bumboras (known as 'Bumby' to locals) is a hidden rocky beach with wild beauty and crystal-clear water. At low tide, shallow rock pools form a natural aquarium perfect for exploring with a mask and snorkel. The reef break draws local surfers, while the surrounding Bumboras Reserve offers birdwatching, picnic spots, and sweeping ocean views. Small, secluded, and rugged, it's a local favourite for quiet beach days away from the crowds.

Moderate risk: Strong currents and swell
Strong currents and changing ocean conditions can occur suddenly, especially near the reef break. Swimming is not recommended due to reef and swell.
Low risk: Sharp reef and rocks
Sharp reef rocks and coral are exposed at low tide and can cause cuts or injuries.
Low risk: Rising tide limits beach access
The beach is small and rocky; incoming tide can quickly reduce available beach area and access points.
