Blue Bay offers a protected, shallow estuarine snorkelling experience on Mandurah's sheltered coastline. The beachfront features rocky reef outcrops and hidden nooks that harbour small fish and crustaceans, while calm, clear conditions make it ideal for beginners and families. The sandy shoreline slopes gently into the Peel-Harvey Estuary system, providing excellent visibility on still days. With the Blue Bay Caravan Park behind it and a scenic coastal path connecting to neighbouring Calypso Beach, this spot combines easy access with rewarding underwater exploration in a relaxed, sheltered setting.

Moderate risk: Recreational boat traffic
The estuary is a popular recreational boating area. Snorkellers should stay alert for boat traffic, particularly near the channel entrances.
Low risk: Submerged reef rocks
Shallow rocks and reef platforms are submerged near the shore, particularly at low tide. Care should be taken when entering and exiting the water to avoid cuts or stubbed toes.
Low risk: Estuarine tidal currents
Tidal flows through the Peel Inlet and Mandurah Estuary can create moderate currents, especially during outgoing tides when water drains from the estuary system.
