Avalon Bay, part of the Falcon foreshore in Mandurah, offers a calm, protected swimming and snorkelling spot sheltered by offshore limestone reefs. The shallow, sandy-bottomed bay is dotted with seagrass meadows and patches of reef where small fish congregate. Backed by a grassy foreshore reserve with picnic tables and a playground, it's a popular family-friendly escape. On calm days the water is clear and flat — ideal for beginners and kids to float and discover the local marine life.

Low risk: Offshore reef at low tide
Limestone reef that shelters the bay can become very shallow at low tide, exposing sharp rocks. Care needed when entering and exiting.
Low risk: Boat traffic near channel
Adjacent to the Mandurah estuary channel; occasional boat traffic near the northern edge of the bay.
Low risk: Seagrass growth
Dense seagrass can obscure the sandy bottom; watch for stingrays camouflaged in the grass.
