Anderson Point is a rugged headland rising 30 m above the sea, located 1 km north of Portland Harbour in Western Victoria. The point offers a steep descent to a sheltered pocket beach with rocky reef at either end, where clear waters and kelp beds create habitat for reef fish and the occasional stingray. Snorkelers can explore the rocky gutters and limestone ledges alongside Whalers Point, with the historic lighthouse watching overhead. The site is known for its calm conditions on favourable tides and the chance to spot penguins and sea dragons in the shallows.

Moderate risk: Steep cliff access
Anderson Point steps have been deemed unsafe and removed; access requires a steep, unmaintained descent over loose rock to the beach.
Moderate risk: Swell and surge
Exposed to southerly swells; rough conditions can create strong surge against the rocky reef edges.
Low risk: Kelp beds
Thick kelp forests in the shallows can entangle swimmers and reduce visibility, particularly at the reef ends of the beach.
Low risk: Fishing line hazards
The breakwater and point are popular with anglers; stray fishing line, hooks, and sinkers pose a snagging risk to snorkelers.
